The whole thing is very inspiring for me, and this is what I like the most. It gives me the energy and the power to try something new for me, but at the same time, I have the confidence that I can succeed or I can be part of the journey.
How have you found the events organised by Connectd?
The whole thing is very inspiring for me, and this is what I like the most. It gives me the energy and the power to try something new for me, but at the same time, I have the confidence that I can succeed or I can be part of the journey. So the whole thing has made me feel stronger to go ahead and succeed.
How have you found working with mentors?
The mentor experience is great. I get on very well with him, and he has been very knowledgeable, very inspiring, and he's guiding me through the process of my journey. And I admire him because he's a person with a banking background like me. Actually, we used to work more or less the same time in similar jobs. And then he followed this career much earlier than me. So he has already succeeded in a lot of things in the new area. So for me, it is like I want to become like him, so it is a perfect connection.
What do you hope to give back to some of the companies you work with?
At the moment, I'm focusing on ESG environmental issues, and in fact, I am in the process of starting my six-month placement with one of the companies that focuses on ESG issues, which I find really fascinating because I'm going to see in practice how the ESG factors can be implemented in the companies because this is the future. Sooner or later, it will be compulsory for every company to be compatible with the ESG factors. So I will have a six or nine months relationship with a company, it is a startup company, which I'm going to learn from them and hopefully they will take something from me as well. And I look forward to this journey. So my focus is on ESC matters, as I said, related to finance and real estate because those two subcategories are the areas that I'm more interested in. But of course, I'm open to any challenge.
I guess my banking financial background helps me to be able to fit into many placements as everybody's really interested in funding and finance issues. So I make get some non-executive or board jobs, or advisory or consultancy. At the moment, it's still early days to speak specifically on jobs, but this is the areas that I'm more interested in.
How has your mentor helped you?
He has suggested various websites to follow, various events I can subscribe to follow, and all sort of suggestions regarding LinkedIn, regarding connections, CV, anything that can help me in this new environment. For me, it's very valuable because I was working just for one organisation for all of my life. So I have to tell you that before this, I didn't have an updated CV. So for me it was like a completely new journey.
What makes you passionate about working for start-ups?
Well, it's something fresh, young, promising, revolutionary, enthusiastic.
How would you describe Connectd in three words?
Just three words. It's difficult, but I would say inspiring, motivating, and revolutionary.
What has been your experience working with Connectd staff?
Yes, very good. Excellent. The staff is always very helpful and they make me feel like I am part of a big company, a big family rather than a company, because everybody's friendly and very keen to offer a hand whenever I need it. So I feel very happy to be part of it.
Do you feel Connectd is a platform that champions women in business?
Yes, I feel very proud to be part of it because I think the company is very keen to promote diversification across a wide spectrum of people, but especially women. I think it gives the opportunity, equal opportunity to women to prove that they can do also well in the industry. So, I find this very extremely rewarding and promising for the future.
