Tell us a bit about your startup.
VuPop started from my personal experience of trying to find and consume valuable information from various platforms like TikTok and YouTube without the clutter. I wanted one guide to help plan my day, but it didn’t exist.
VuPop allows users to curate their own algorithm based on what they want to learn or watch, whether it’s live content or longer-form videos, without the noise of ads and irrelevant content. We’re aggregating across all platforms—Netflix, TikTok, YouTube, TV—giving viewers back control of their attention. Streaming and live content are on the rise, and we’re positioned right where the trend is heading.
What pain points does Connectd address for you?
Before Connectd, I was in the ideation stage and looking for a co-founder. My first conversation with an advisor led to him becoming my technical co-founder, which was massive because we shared the same vision.
Connectd helped me find advisors and fill skill gaps in my team, bringing in expertise from social media, mainstream media, PR, and sports broadcast, which I wouldn’t have found otherwise. We've moved from ideation to having a physical prototype, ready for our first funding round.
Have you managed to secure any investment or advisors since joining?
Yes, I’ve posted multiple roles on the platform and had about 15 people apply, but Connectd didn’t stop there. They also introduced me to additional people who fit our industry needs. We’ve onboarded five advisors who bring experience in social media strategy, mainstream media, PR, and more, allowing us to cover all our bases.

Our advisors have been instrumental in keeping us focused. As a startup, it’s easy to get carried away with growth ideas, but they’ve helped us prioritise and stay on task, creating a clear roadmap for our app’s development.

Their diverse experiences, from raising funds to exiting businesses, have been valuable not just for now but for every step ahead.
